Happy YELLOW day, JK! As promised, we are beginning a new area of study: YOU! But not just the basic likes and dislikes - we already know each other pretty well - instead we are going to dive deeper and even explore who you dream to be one day. To start, we want you to enjoy the story below that talks about all the 'treasures' in life that aren't objects or things we can touch. After you watch, make a list with Mom or Dad or draw 5 things YOU treasure! You can text, email or comment below with your list or picture. Have fun!

Good morning JK families, Today is ORANGE day! We will see you this morning at our 9:30 Zoom for a live story time! Our new number of the week is, of course, 8! Watch the video below to see me form the number using 8 different materials I found around the house. From glitter and sprinkles to sand and shaving cream there are plenty of fun things with which to practice your 8s. Take a look and then it's your turn to try. We can't wait to see what you will use! (just one material- you don't need to use eight) Happy Monday JK! It's time to find out what our new letter of the week is! But first, let's do our card pack together! Please comment below with any words that you come up with that begin with our new letter. Hint hint: Miss Bri & Miss Liz's pets start with this letter! Happy Monday JK,
This week is rainbow week! Each day we will be wearing a different color of the rainbow. Today is red day! (See below for each daily color) In addition we want you to create your own rainbow and display it outside your house for everyone in your neighborhood to see! This idea was inspired by the rainbow hunts taking place all over Philadelphia. Click here to read more about this city wide project. Your rainbow can be made using anything! Explore, experiment, think outside the box and be sure to send us a picture of your finished creation. Now more than ever, we need to add extra joy and kindness to our world. Rainbows popping up all over the valley are sure to bring a smile to every passerby. And don't forget to go on your own rainbow hunt too! It's Friday, friends! It's time for one more Phonemic Awareness drill. Phonemic awareness is the ability to identify and manipulate individual sounds in spoken words. It is the foundation for learning to read! All the children are at different stages of developing these skills. Please don't worry or get discouraged if your child requires more practice. Just like any sport, that's what makes these 'drills' so wonderful! This is an interactive lesson, so although I pause, you may need to use the actual pause button on your computer to allow your child enough time to respond. We hope you have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy the story "Finding Spring" by Carin Bergen and then head outside to find some clues that spring has arrived! We can't wait to hear what you discovered when we talk tonight at our 6:30p.m. Zoom call. Happy Thursday! This is where Miss Bri will build our new word web! If you think of a word beginning with the letter N, text or email it over to us and she will add it to her door!
Hi JK! It made our day to see your smiling faces this morning! If you were unable to join us, we did a mindful breathing activity together. Check it out above!
Happy Tuesday JK! Below is our very first remote phonemic awareness drill. Phonemic awareness is the ability to identify and manipulate individual sounds in spoken words.
