Dream big and enjoy your summer! We love you!

Miss Bri & Miss Liz read "I Wish You More" by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld. We wish you a wonderful summer & a fantastic next school year. This is it boys and girls... THE LAST phonemic awareness drill of the year! All those mornings spent rhyming, isolating sounds and celebrating breakthroughs have lead us to today! This is our hardest one yet, so don't worry if these tasks seem hard. Don't give up! It will all come together with time and practice. Parents hit the pause button if your child needs a little more time to respond. Here are the recipes to try from Tuesday's Zoom meeting. Both use avocados but one recipe is savory and one is sweet! Enjoy!
Superhero Avocado Toast Holding a sweet potato on its side, carefully slice a thin piece off and pop it in the toaster. While your "toast" is toasting, slice a ripe avocado in half and scoop out the flesh into a bowl. Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper. Mash with a fork. Served on toasted sweet potato slice. Superhero Avocado Pudding Slice two ripe avocado in half and scoop out the flesh into a food processor. Add 2 TBS of cocoa powder, 3 TBS of maple syrup, a squirt of vanilla, a pinch of salt, and a splash of milk. Puree till smooth by adding additional milk as necessary! On our first day of school back in August, you drew your self-portrait, or drawing of you. Today we are asking you to draw it again. We love to see all the growth that takes place from August to May in just two pictures. Watch the video below and text or email us pictures of your drawings! Good Morning JK! It's card pack time and you know what that means...new letter of the week! Can you guess what our new letter is? Hint: Miss Bri's last name starts with this letter and Miss Liz's last name ends with this letter. Happy Monday of our last full week of virtual school! We are starting to prepare for our end of the year celebration that will be held on Zoom, Tuesday, May 19th at 9:30a.m. We want to have a costume party dressed up as the characters we've created! BUT we don't want you to go shopping or order things from online stores. Instead we want you to use found items around your house to get dressed up. Blankets, foil, cardboard, bubble wrap, dresses, capes and masks...anything can used! Let your child take the lead. They do not need to look exactly like the character they drew, but simply love how they look and feel as their "character." Send us a short video clip of your child dressed in character doing something silly by Friday. We are going to put the clips together to make a fun video to show at our costume celebration! Mother's Day is in two days! Enjoy a little story time with Mom before the big day is here. The votes are in! Last night we revealed our TOP TEN moments of the year. Watch below to see where your favorite moment ranked. Sunday is Mother's Day! Here is a simple paper flower you can make with your child to give to mom or even grandma. You will need, tissue paper (from old gift bags is fine!) scissors, string and tape. Watch Miss Liz make a giant flower in the video below. Mom will LOVE this flower that she can keep forever! |
