Tomorrow is Earth Day! As a school we are asking you to carefully look at nature. Can you find or create a heart shape in nature or by using nature? When you do, snap a photo of it, and we will make a beautiful collage. Maybe try to get yourself into the photo as well.

This week we are going to continue with letter Ee. This can be a tricky letter to form so let's practice together! All you'll need is a paintbrush and a cup of water! Watch the video below and follow along to practice writing the upper and lower case letter us! If you come up with words that start with letter Ee, please add them in the comments below and we"ll add them to our list! So far we have elephant, elevator, eagle and Everly! Looking for some ideas to keep the kiddos busy and pass the time? Here are some wonderful suggestions from Mrs. Kramer! Send us photos of the kids trying some of these timeless activities.
-Read a book in a creative place outside. -Make a mud pie and decorate it with sticks, stones, leaves or any nature. (Best after a rainy day) -Set a proper table (call a grandparent and ask where the silverware goes!.) -Pick flowers and arrange them in a vase for your dinner table. -Bake something! Read the recipe and follow the directions. -Make and send a card to someone. -Write a positive message on your sidewalk, driveway or in a park. (6 Feet apart, but close at heart, We’re in this together, Stay Safe, You are not alone, We can do this). -Write a thank you sign for your mail carrier, ups driver and post it on your door, window or mailbox - Gather all of the garbage in the house and fill your trash bin and leave it out on trash day. -Roll down a long grassy hill. Send us the video! -Plant something: flowers in a pot for your porch or seeds in a garden. -Ride a bike! Doesn’t matter the size. Go for it! We are still practicing the number 9 this week so we thought we would try a game of "nine, nine, make a rhyme!" with our special guest star, Rhyming Rabbit. Play along to find matching pairs and don't forget to hit the pause button if your child needs a little more time. If you want to extend the game, and your child is ready, ask them to provide an additional rhyming word to the pair! Good morning JK! We know how much you love characters! Owen will always be Ironman, Gage is definitely Spiderman, Ava & Lyric have agreed to both be Elsa, Parker is wowing everyone with his Batman voice, Farrah is twirling like Esmeralda and Beau Carr is armed with a frying pan just like Flynn Ryder. And that's just the start of all the wonderful dramatic play that was taking place inside our classroom walls before we left. Inspired by you and your love of characters, watch the video below and get excited about creating your own character! If you haven't made your character drawing yet, get a piece of paper and crayons/markers and get to work. You can become any character you can imagine! (Miss Liz & Miss Bri even gave it a shot...watch below) Bring your drawing to our Zoom meeting tonight and get ready to share your character with your classmates. Parents if you want to document (write down) what your child says about their drawing, we would love to have all the details! We can't wait to see what YOU will create! Watch the video below for our new number of the week. The weather may be chilly this week, but if the sun pops out and you find yourself outside, grab the sidewalk chalk and practice writing this week's number. It's card pack time with Miss Bri! Can you guess what our new letter of the week is? Hint hint: One of Miss Bri's favorite animal's starts with this letter! If you were unable to join us this morning, below is a quick video explaining the activity. Parents, if you could document your child's description of their character on a separate piece of paper we would appreciate that so much. Please send their final creation with the documentation through email or text. We will post them on the SparkPage at the end of the week once they've had a chance to share them on Thursday at our 6:30pm Zoom meeting. Good morning JK, Just 3 more days until Easter and everyone has 'the bunny' on their mind! Head out on a nature walk, collect leaves, flowers, rocks and more. Then draw a little face and add your nature items to make your bunny complete. No need to glue the items down. Without glue you can create again and again and try new design combinations. You can even use loose parts you have around your house! Loose part ideas:
Take a picture of your nature/loose part bunny and send the picture to us! We will put your creations up on the Spark page. See you at the Spring Hunt at 10:00! Hoppy Easter! |
